Residential Condition Survey

It is an important choice to choose the right survey.

When you buy a house or flat you should have a survey so that you are fully aware of its condition before you buy. A survey will help highlight any serious problems and advise you of the specific risks before you commit to the process of buying a property.

Here are some issues we have found recently:

Slipped and missing roof tiles around a valley gutter

Valley gutters are not always inspected because of accessibility issues but must be inspected to make sure there are no long term issues.

Serious structural movement to an outside wall

This structural movement might seem small to the untrained eye but can be the tip of the iceberg of underlying issues to where the whole property is at risk.

A RICS survey can identify issues before you buy your home. It will show you any problems that may delay your sale or cause price reductions later in the process.

Failed roof structure

This is a serious issue and must be resolved.

A survey of the current condition of your purposed home will warn you of defects and help you avoid escalating repair and maintenance costs in the future.

Rot and wood boring beetle damage to structural timbers

That little bit of rotten wood might need expensive remediation.

A RICS survey can identify issues before you buy your home. It will show you any problems that may delay your sale or cause price reductions later in the process.

Atlas Surveyors provide the following surveys:

  • RICS Home Surveys Level 2 – with or with a valuation
